Istiklal Street
One of the most famous avenues in Istanbul, Turkey, visited by nearly 3 million people in a single day over the course of weekends. This street connects Taksim to Tunel (underground). There are shops, cafe's, restaurants, bars, book shops on this street which is rather crowded at any time of the day.
Besides there are important landmarks such as Galatasaray High School, Galatasaray Bath, Flower Passage. The avenue, surrounded by late Ottoman era buildings (mostly from the 19th and early 20th centuries) ultimately leads up to Taksim Square

Galata Tower
The Galata Tower which is standing in the Galata district of Istanbul and which can be seen from all over the city has been erected by the Genoeses in 1348. The nine-story tower is 66.90 meters tall and was the city's tallest structure when it was built.  The tower has an external diameter of 16.45 meters at the base and walls that are 3.75 meters thick. One of the city's most striking landmarks, it is a huge, cone-capped cylinder that dominates the skyline on the Galata side of the Golden Horn. For more information: http://www.galatatower.net/
